    NDP Rehearsal #5 + #6: whoa.

ndp #5: dude they're still screwing up! there are like 3 shows to go and you're still messing up the order of things. like seriously, how come the MPs just NEVER EVER get it right? and SOKA's like flashing their lights all over the place. is it to be able to see? i think so, 'cause it gets really dark out there. with so many ppl, i guess it can get a little scary. :) either way, you see these little lights all over the place. zZzZzZz

had to wear my uniform to this one. first time this month lol. actually wasn't too bad, 'cause i could change out of the shirt part. got screwed though, 'cause we left the stadium before stand-down. whacked man. i mean, once the stadium is cleared of participants, why the hell should we have to hang around? sigh.

ndp #6: OMG! the biggest screw up of ALL! first of all, there was rain in the afternoon, so there was no opportunity to practice prior to the show. as a result, no one had a chance to warm up before performing in front of 60,000 people. what the hell? luckily the marching contigents got in some practice.

however, they were the ones to screw up BIG BIG time. at the end of the parade, the music should fade out, then the drums will beat twice, and the contingents will turn in preparation of running out, then another 2 beats is the signals to move off. at practice they did alright. however! during the parade, the drum beats came too closed to the end of the previous song, confusing the participants. they didn't turn! so when the second set came out, they were still facing foward! they have to turn and immediately run out. like wth?!

then everything was mistimed, and people were bumping into each other and other props and nonsense. seriously, it was MAD embarrassing. but SOKA was awesome. they completed their show with pretty much no problems :) well done.

overall, it looks like some practice is needed, but hey. the people are doing an awesome job. :)

OH YEAH the little one-bar fuck in charge of the choir has an attitude problem. the dude's a loser who thinks the whole world is his bitch. even the civilians are under his command. so he treats them like crap! i mean COME ON! they're just kids, and anyway there's a damn human jam, WHAT'S THE POINT OF RUSHING THEM? so he's like "30 seconds, otherwise you don't go. 30...29...28...25 oh sorry i can't count" like wtf. if you can't count then GET THE FUCK OUT. give up your rank and GET LOST. useless bastard. it's not like you're worth ANYTHING, you little one-bar shit.

    that aside, it's all good.

    peace out.

    NDP Rehearsal #3 + #4: 2 shows in a row

well, we finally let a LIVE audience see the spectacle for the first time. i must say: well done team!

ndp #3: family day preview. good idea, to let all the participants invite their families to watch them work. after all, not all their families might get tickets to the preview, or the real day, so this is a good chance to test the reaction, albeit a biased one, of the crowd. wonderful performance by the participants, and for the first time they fired off fireworks! it was awesome! lol

hot girls all 'round, 'cept for these smoking sluts who walked into our area when they shouldn't have. so funny to watch them being escorted out LOL. live with it, 'cause you ain't the queen of the world ^^

got to wear our civilian clothes, 'cause we had to "blend into the crowd" yeah right, we really blended in with our radio, binoculars (military grade ones, SO COOL! >< ) and bags. but hey, it was cool to be part of the atmosphere. in the end, not many jumpers. since that first day there hasn't been a full jump. wonder if they'll do a full jump at the real day and preview...

ndp #4: GOD they closed off all the parking lots! i had to park at the freakin' MACDONALDS! lucky i took a cab from mcdonalds to the stadium - would've been WAY late otherwise, and that would definitely have been bad. just wish i had known ahead of time, then i could've asked for a dropoff, or at least ask for advice on where to park >< lame...

today we let the little kids watch. it was the National Education (NE) show. i remember attending the NE show in my day. it was a little poorly organised - we had no idea where we were going on a weekday until they actually brought us to the stadium and TOLD us what was going on ><' . anywayz, we sat in the crowd again, this time the throngs consisted of jabbery, noisy, can't-sit-still-for-a-second little 11-year-olds. swear to god, i lost at least 2-3% of my hearing from the "somebody...anybody...everybody...SCREAM!!!"

the worst part was when they started handing out free stuff to the kids, like buns and tissue paper and stuff. what do you think happens when you throw things to kids? that's right! they THROW BACK. soon the air is filled with buns being aimed at other kids, and clappers being used as batons in their little games. i could've just snatched up all the clappers and thrown them off the roof at that point, 'cause it was such a pain to try and listen to the radio chatter with that dull thumping in the background.

but i survived it, with (most of) my hearing intact - my sanity having gone out the window with that first SCREAM!!...

gettin' better every day folks! this time around SOKA made like almost no errors! that's fantastic, considering how many ppl are involved in the act. when SOKA shows up, there's like NO room at all on the concourse. it's filled with purple people.

gettin' there...just a little more and 8, maybe even 10 days off! please god make it 10 :D

    peace out.

    malaysian buses

why do we allow malaysian buses on the road? every morning i drive on AMK ave 3 towards to highway, and i invariably run into a whole fleet of those damned disgusting buses. i swear to god, my car goes in red and practically comes out black.

first off, they POLLUTE like nobody's business. every once in a while, i see a car fire out a bit of carbon from its exhaust, and that's not so bad, 'cause the engine needs to clear itself out. these pieces of crap are constantly pumping out black crap from their pipes! it's like a black cloud descends on the road whenever they drive past. if singaporean vehicles have to pass emmision standards to drive on our roads, then so should vehicles from malaysia. if they want to charge us to bring our vehicles over, then they should allow us to do something about their crap falling on our roads right?

not only are they crappy vehicles, they're crappy DRIVERS too! buses that turn when they're in the wrong lane, buses that just squeeze their way into lanes. YOU'RE NOT STOCK CAR DRIVERS!! your vehicles are NOT small, and they do NOT turn on a dime. they are NOT meant to drive at 100 km/h. swear to god, when i see then again i'm going to take down some numbers. there are turning LANES and TRAFFIC LIGHTS for a reason, you bloody blind malaysian pieces of shit.

i really can't stand those damn buses, and the damned malaysian bastards vans that make their way onto our roads. if you want to drive on our roads, you follow OUR rules. the police should REALLY look into that. give them tickets every morning and ENFORCE them, otherwise our roads will end up looking like malaysian roads - CRAP. wtf man.

    despo?

met a few interesting ppl today. had a great time talking to them. asked them for their msn contacts. however, the woman in the group was on the phone. so when i got online, i spoke to one of the guys. asked him if she was around, and if i could talk to her. get her contact.

what the hell do i get? "dude dun be so despo lah". then another guy chimes in with 2 verses of "omg wth man" or something to that effect.

wth is it with these ppl? i mean i just wanna know A FEW people, male and female, in singapore before i leave in 6 months. oh but then, she's female, so obviously i'm hitting on her, desperate and pathetic as i am. why the hell do i have to be subject to this stupid stereotype every time i try to keep in touch with a lady? god, i seriously just don't get it. i mean, yeah, i guess some ppl would see this kind of crap everywhere, like in secondary school or primary school or kc or even in uni, but you would expect that by then, they would be mature enough not to assume the worst. but hey, this is singapore. what the hell would i know right?

you hopeless ppl should try it. seriously. one of these days, just try having no friends outside the office (not that i hate the ppl in my office - they're cool). no reason to say, "no thanks guys. i've got plans" with anyone. spending most of your life waiting to LEAVE. try it, and you'll know what it's like for me most of the time. those who know me think it's all a sob story, but screw you man. you don't get to say that, 'cause you don't know what it's like. you and your kind were the ones who ostracised me. left me to be alone for 10 years. ignored and forgotten when all the good stuff happens, and blamed when crap happens. then you blame ME for my situation. for being "the loner" or "always leaving before we could ask you". what stopped you from asking later? did i not try to talk to y'all as friends? as acquaitances?

screw it. i'm leaving right? no need to know me at all - mostly forget i ever existed. in the end, it makes no difference to those who don't give a crap right? :)

    peace out.

    NDP Rehearsal #2: Gettin' better

well the show's progressing along very very well indeed. in fact they did their second full run and already the finale's coming together. the amount of work involved is tremendous. unfortunately they also had to do rehearsals from early in the morning. so i had to stand out in the sun the whole day. like OMG! lucky i brought suntan lotion, otherwise i would've burned to a crisp. as it is i already have the burn line from my uniform...which sucks.

i drove there for the first time, and it was fun! i parked my car, and hopefully the amount of parking was sufficient, 'cause it's going to be the amount i put this week when i go again.

today, i got to drive my dad's car again :) wow it was so cool. now that i have a license i get to actually take it passed reverse and first! seriously the power and response from that car. it was amazing. ROAR! my car is pretty awesome too. been driving it to the office, and it's pretty powerful once you step on it. have to drive a bit more carefully though - almost caused a few major accidents >< oh my.

    :)

    peace out.
